what does it mean? and how do i go about doing it? sometimes when i play, the message: "I'm attacking *monster* with backfire!" or something like that appears. is that calling, and what was i doing to cause it (since i did that by accident)?

You were holding CTRL when you clicked the spell you were casting.
Yes, that is calling your target. Also useful when CTRL-clicking the mob as you are attacking. (sigh...beaten by the delay to post) Last edited by Swehurn; Jan 29, 2006 at 06:53 AM // 06:53.. |

Control + spacebar also achieves this effect.
To call an enemy that you are "Targeting" and not attacking, press control+shift+spacebar |

If someone else in your group has been designated as 'the caller', they will do all the control clicking, and you should use 'T' to select the enemy they have 'called', then simply fire away.

Another way to target one that's already called it to click on the target that appears next to the callers name in the party bar.
